My fishing partner, Roger, and I have been fishing
for over 30 years. Until 2005, both of us had full time jobs that severely
limited the time we could spend fishing. However, through the years we have
attended fishing seminars and fishing classes to keep up to date with the
latest methods and technologies. We have taught our five children the joy of
fishing. During their younger years, Roger and I learned more about fishing
than all the seminars we attended. For the kids to have fun meant that we had
to know what we were doing. Sitting in a 14 foot boat with as many as four
kids all day without fish is not a lot of fun. As adults, our "kids" make
every effort to come fish with us. I can not wait until my grandchildren reach
six or seven. Roger and I can then begin a new teaching and learning
experinece.
Roger and I have been fortunate to have fished in
Connecticut, New Hampshire, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, Texas,
Georgian Bay in Ontario and lately on the Winnepeg and English River system
north of Kenora, Ontario. Our experiences have taken us to a variety of lakes,
rivers and resourviors. We have seen weather conditions that have been ideal,
over a 100 degrees, light rain, heavy rain (thunder or lightning means off the
lake asap), and wind gust of up to 40 mph with snow showers. We have learned
from each situation through the different challenges they have presented.
With each experience, Roger and I have added to our
understanding of Al & Ron Linders' "Fish + Location + Presentation = Success".
Our enjoyment comes fishing a new body of water, learning about it and solving
where the fish are. Once we learn the nuiances of a lake, it is not uncommon
that Roger and I outfish most fishermen while we are there. Our greatest
success has come in recent years. Fishing is considered slow if we do not each
catch twenty Walleyes in a day.
We have developed an understanding of fish and how
they relate to their environment. Presentation is an integral aspect of
fishing. We have learned that quality equipment has dramactically increased
our odds of catching fish. We seem to always try whatever new device comes to
the market if it looks like it will help us. But throughout the emphasis
always centers on equipment that we have in our hands. Quality rods, reels and
line catch more fish for us than the latest boats, electronic gear or
underwater cameras.
Initally a sole proprietorship, JBS Enterprises has grown by being aware of its customer needs. If you are happy with our product and service, the chance of you being a repeat customer is significantly increased.
